The Design Process
The design process is intentional and designed to guide your space from concept to completion with confidence at every step. It goes beyond a series of decisions. It is a thoughtful progression that brings ideas to life in a way that feels both elevated and cohesive.
Discovery Call
Every project begins with a Discovery Call—a 20 minute, brief, focused conversation to understand your project at a high level and determine if it’s the right fit for Fresh Paint Designs. To make the most of our time, we ask you to fill out an Intake Form (website or email). This allows us to review key details and approach the conversation with intention and insight.
Design Proposal
If Fresh Paint Designs feels like the right fit, a tailored Design Proposal is developed. This document outlines the scope of work, provides an overview of the design process, and details the payment structure and design agreement—establishing a clear framework for how we will work together, what the project will require, and what to expect moving forward. Once approved, the project officially begins!
Project Assessment Consultation
If there is alignment, we move into the complimentary Project Assessment Consultation. In this 45 minute meeting we will ask you a series of questions about your project including the scope, budget, timeline and structure. We will walk the space and collect critical details while assessing the overall scope to ensure alignment with our processes.
Ahead of our meeting, you’ll curate inspiration images, and define your project goals and investment level. This groundwork is essential. It gives insight into not only what you’re drawn to, but the reasoning behind it—allowing the design to be developed with intention and meaning.
Design Development
With the foundation in place, the design begins to take shape. This phase unfolds through a series of defined milestones, including concept development, material selections, and final design review. Each stage builds upon the last, refining the overall vision and ensuring every element is thoughtfully considered.
You’ll be invited into the process at key Design Presentations, where your feedback is not only welcomed, but essential. These moments of alignment allow the design to evolve with purpose, so that by the final review, the direction feels cohesive and fully resolved.
Procurement & Execution
Once the design is finalized, the project moves into procurement. We begin ordering the design selections, vendor coordination, and ongoing communication to manage production timelines and resolve any issues that arise—ensuring a seamless transition from design to implementation.
This is where the vision begins to come to life. During construction and installation, I provide design oversight, working closely with contractors, conducting site visits, and guiding the execution to ensure every detail is realized as intended. Each decision made in earlier phases is honored, resulting in a space that feels cohesive, intentional, and complete.
